Hello there, I am Abhijit Paul, from a small village in India.

Here is a bit of backstory. I found programming by accident. I was in school, watching my teacher type something on screen that looked like complete gibberish. I asked what it was and how that code turned into a webpage. That question changed the rest of my life. I knew right then this was what I wanted to do.

I mostly work with React and React Native now, but the way I think about software goes deeper than the stack I use. I believe software should be responsive, light on resources, and fast even on low end systems. It's easy to reach for a library for every small problem, but I try to avoid that. Most of the time, the discomfort of writing something yourself is worth avoiding the bloat that comes with pulling in a dependency for something small.

I also enjoy studying DSA and solving algorithmic problems. It keeps me close to the fundamentals instead of just the frameworks.

I care a lot about code quality, and I lean towards the suckless and handmade network way of thinking about software: simple, small, and built with intention instead of stacked with abstractions.

I like the idea of minimalism. It isn't just an aesthetic choice for me, it genuinely reduces how much unnecessary thinking I have to do in a day.

A few other things about me:

I sing and write songs, though I'll be the first to admit they're not very good. I do enjoy taking songs I already love and writing my own lyrics over them.

I love cinema. Some of my favorite films are Meiyazhagan, Taare Zameen Par, and The Lunchbox.

I try to meditate every day with mindfulness. It has genuinely reduced my stress. I used the Medito app earlier, but after a month I started trying it without any guidance.
